Tarot and it's story

Every witch or people who practice divination regularly, knows that a tarot deck contains 78 cards. One part is the Major Arcana, which contains 22 pages, can be used for divination separadtedly from the other part of the deck too.

The origin of the tarot is unknown, the opinions of how the deck is made are very different and none of them are provable. Some people think that the deck is made for handing on the ancient knowledge of Atlantis, others think that the deck is just a playing deck. Certainly, the first mentioning of the deck is written in 1377, in this document the deck has been claimed as a forbidden thing. Though the use of the deck was forbidden, they could not stop its spreading, the tarot was known in almost every big city worldwide.

Another tale says that Moses when lead out his folk out of Israel, he took the secret knowledge of the priests in the symbols of the tarot deck. The supposition is based of the association of the 22 Major Arcane cards and the 22 hebrew character.

Another supposition is that the tarot deck comes from India, because it compares to an indian divination deck the symbols are approximately the same.

Probably the deck is made by merging two decks. As mentioned above, he 22 cards of the Major Arcane were already existed as divination cards, the first ones with italian patterns and themes. This deck was merged with another deck contained 56 cards in four suits, this has eastern origins.

The playing decks' structure is similar to the tarot deck's structure. The four suits of the Minor Arcane can be found in almost all of the playing card decks and the Joker is based on the Major Arcane card called The Magician.

Today the divination with tarot is the most popular form of prognosting the future. The reading of the cards depends on the cards' symbols, and depends on the reader. When the main question is inaccurate, the answer will be inaccurate too, and if the reader does not elevate to read the cards and understand the meaning of them, the answer will be meaningless or false.

The compound of the decks and the meaning of the symbols will be described in a further post.
