Sorry guys, I was ill for 2 weeks. I needed to recover and it took all of my energy.
I was browsing the witchy groups on Facebook last week and I found a question: how to start witchcraft? Who are on their path, they could smile a bit or get horrified reading this question.
Witchcraft is a magical-spiritual path. The main part of it is to get in touch with spirits, gods/goddesses, saints and with or without their help life can be influenced. Witchcraft is an access to the spiritual “world”, without the sense of being consigned to the supernatural, but we can influence it in some degree. Some think this influencing power is very tough, but I think we can affect only a little bit. This relationship between the supernatural and the witch is not only an “if needed” relationship. It is so intenting that all day of the witch is fulfilled with it.
Witchcraft is not a religion. There are no common festive, no common deities, no common rituals. It can be framed into every religion in the world. The simplest way of witchcraft in other religions is when an old lady says a curse during flavoring her meal when cooking to make someone to suffer from stomach ache after eating; then she goes to the midnight mass to confess her sins.
It’s very important that witchcraft is NOT equal to Wicca. Wicca is a religion, so when you say “I’m a Christian Wicca” it's a catachresis. Wicca has its own rituals, own festives, own deities, AND it has got the Wiccan Rede which is like Christianity’s Bible: it lays down the axiom of the religion.
If you want to be a witch, you just need to establish a relationship with that deity or spirit you adore. It is a hard task, it won’t happen right away. (If yes, you are a VERY lucky person.) Practicing witchcraft requires a lot of desperation and practice.
If you want to be a witch to get back your lover or you want to be opulent without any work, then it is not your path. Witchcraft is not about this. If you find someone who tells you: “I will solve all your problems for x amount of money” then you probably found a charlatan.
Witchcraft is a style of living, an art of life, not an easy weekend hobby.
