Most of the witches agree with the four elements system. The analogies vary to the traditions, but there are many overlaps in the descriptions. The system of the four elements is one potential way to get closer to the nature. Flower Field (Virag Mezo) author says: “the elements give the opportunities to pick the whole nature apart, which is more tangible in this way. (…) The underlying conception is when you know the elements better you will be able to understand the mysticism of the world better, and your magical knowledge will be more detailed.” So if you want to work with Water, you can cast your spells next to a river or a lake, if you want to work with Earth, you can see the trees about to get more wiser etc, so this is an easier way to get closer to the nature spirits.
Now I will write about the Fire element.

Fire is linked to the southern corner. If you believe in astrology, you can connect it with the Sun, the Mars and sometimes the Saturn. If you want to work with the Fire element, you should light a candle or a bonfire. If you cannot light candles (as I mentioned in THIS POST), you can substitute it with your athame, small lanterns, sword or a piece of coal (charcoal the best). If you use candles, then choose a red, orange or golden one. If you want to meditate with crystals, you should use carnelian, cateye, tigereye, hematite, pyrite, amber, obsidian, garnet and raw metals.
These plants are linked to the Fire element: ash, basil, bay leaves, chamomile, chili, cinnamon, mustard, mistletoe, oak, citrus, calendula, tobacco, grape, walnut, hazelnut, pepper, calamus root, clove, dragons blood, frankincense, ginger, sandalwood, juniper, sunflower. You can use them as incense or if the plant is edible you can use it in your ritual dishes.
If you want to work with the Fire element, the best way is to light a bonfire and gaze the flames. (Be careful with the open fire, of course!) If you cannot light a bonfire, then light a red candle. Try to connect with the spirit of a salamander, a lion, a tiger or any kind of felids. Foxes can help you too.
Fire gives you willpower, so if you feel yourself full of go after the meditation, it is normal. Fire can help during the artist’s crisis, the creative works can go better. Fire helps in competitions, even if it’s physical or mental. Fire helps when you need courage or motivation. Fire can be wrecking too, but after the fire comes the new life, so if you want to get rid of something or stop a bad habit, it’s the best to cast a fire spell. The most popular and easiest fire spell is to write on a piece of paper the things you want to get rid of, and burn it away.
The best sacrifice for the Fire element is when you “feed it”; in this case you should collect the wood you want to burn and light the fire with classical tools (like flint, paper lighters etc.)
It’s VERY important that when you work with an open fire, you should place water for extinguishing in case of emergency. Many bushfires start with a single flame left without control or when lighting a very big bonfire - just keep in mind, even a smaller one is as effective as the bigger; even a single candleflame can turn everything in the opposite way! If you use candles, do not leave unattended because the draft, the pets or kids can knock it over and this can cause house fires. Place the candles into a bowl of water or into a good, heavy candleholder. You can use lanterns too, this keeps the flame away from the dry plants and prevents the melted wax from running out of the lantern.
